Published on

Make the most of your summer at The Ford Field & River Club with our exciting lineup of family-friendly member events. Nestled in the heart of our coastal Lowcountry community, The Ford embodies the spirit of Southern hospitality, where warm smiles and genuine connections await at every turn. From a spectacular Independence Day celebration for the family to nature outings for the kids, we have curated a series of experiences that will delight both young and young at heart.

Independence Day Golf Cart Parade & Celebration

Tuesday, July 4

Join fellow members in honoring Independence Day with our Golf Cart Parade and Celebration. Deck out your golf cart in vibrant red, white, and blue decorations and join the parade, or simply enjoy the spectacle as a spectator. The parade will begin at the Marina, with participants lining up along Captains Walk. Cheer on the patriotic display as the parade moves through the property, culminating in front of the Clubhouse and ending at Lake Dye Grill.

Following the parade, continue the festivities at Lake Dye Grill. Dive into the pool party fun, enjoy a live DJ and indulge in American BBQ classics like burgers, potato salad, smoked brisket, mac & cheese and cornbread with jalapeño and honey butter.

Kids in Kayaks & Birding Exploration

Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 22

Our carefully crafted kid events ensure a balance of fun and educational activities, allowing children to discover fascinating facts about the local flora and fauna, learn new skills and ignite their passion for the great outdoors. On July 7, led by our on-site Naturalist Shannon, the group kayak tour for kids ages 10+, will focus on adventure and safety on Lake Clara. From the moment your little explorers step foot into the kayak, they’ll embark on an unforgettable journey of discovery and nature. On July 22, kids ages 5-12 will spend time at the Oyster House learning about birds, making bird feeders and creating bird journals.

Family Canoe Day

Saturday, August 12

Make lasting memories with your loved ones as you embark on a refreshing adventure on the lake. Naturalist Shannon will guide you through a comprehensive demonstration on the essentials of safe canoeing before you set sail on the tranquil waters. To facilitate a smooth outing, families will have two seats per canoe, to fully immerse themselves in this exciting activity.

At The Ford Field & River Club, we believe in fostering a vibrant and meaningful community where members can enjoy cherished moments together.
