The Sports Barn is home to an expansive indoor gym facility and neighbors the Lake Dye Pool, multiple sports courts and a kids playground—all of which provide a lively gathering place for Ford members of all ages.
Inside this 7,000-square-foot, two-level facility offers a wide range of cardio and resistance training equipment, a squash court as well as open training areas and locker rooms with saunas. Personal trainers are also available to meet every kind of fitness need. The Sports Barn is open to all members and guests from 6 am to 9 pm daily.
Instructors at the Sports Barn host 80+ classes and clinics each month in varied disciplines, including Barre Method, yoga, Pilates, TRX, spin and water aerobics.
Open-air sport spaces include three Har-Tru (clay) tennis courts, a grass court for bocce ball and croquet and a new multipurpose area with four pickleball courts—which can also be used for basketball.
Overlooking tranquil Lake Dye, this pool and its surrounding deck are the center of daily life at The Ford from spring to early fall. Its main pool measures 75×37 feet and includes a dedicated lap lane while an 11×12-foot kids’ pool and a 9×12-foot hot tub accommodate more leisurely swimmers. Steps from the pool are locker rooms with showers and towels, as well as a canoe and kayak launch into Lake Dye.
Located adjacent to the Lake Dye Pool, Lake Dye Grill offers a diverse menu of favorites that always hit the spot after a swim, workout or tennis match—from smoothies to sandwiches and beyond. Dining service is available inside Lake Dye Grill, on the porch and poolside.
Sports Barn experiences are also taken off-site with regular cycling and kayaking day trips to nearby natural preserves and barrier islands. Members can borrow equipment like bikes and kayaks for these or other self-guided excursions.
